API Architect

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking an API Architect in Hopkins, MN.

Duties:

* Platform modernization and technical resilience efforts

* Digital channel enablement and API based capability delivery

* Integration of legacy and strategic platforms using approved reference architectures

* Cloud based solution design aligned to enterprise standards

* API Architect will secure, scalable solutions supporting regulatory and risk requirements

* Own solution architecture for complex Business Banking initiatives

* Translate business capabilities into logical and physical architecture designs

* Ensure alignment with Enterprise Architecture principles, standards, and governance

* Guide engineering teams through design reviews and architectural decisions

* Evaluate technology options and document architecture trade offs

* Partner with Product and Engineering on roadmap alignment

* Identify architectural risks and drive mitigation strategies

* As an API Architect, you will support cloud adoption, API strategy, and integration patterns

* Participate in architecture forums and design governance

* Provide implementation guidance through delivery phases

REQUIREMENTS:

* 12+ years of experience in Solution or Enterprise Architecture

* Financial Services or Banking Technology experience

* Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)

* API led and event driven architecture experience

* Business Banking or Commercial Banking domain experience

* Experience modernizing legacy or monolithic platforms

* Distributed systems and microservices design

* Strong understanding of security, resiliency, and data architecture

* Familiarity with Company Reference Architectures; Architecture frameworks (TOGAF or equivalent)

* Prior hands-on engineering or development background

* Ability to communicate architecture clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
