A New York City-based health services organization is seeking a new Certified Medical Coder to join its growing team.
About the Opportunity:
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Hours: 8am to 4pm (1-hour break)
Setting: Remote (after initial training) Responsibilities:
Collaborating with Clinical Documentation Specialists, the Certified Medical Coder will be responsible for medical coding in an acute care setting
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience
High School Diploma/GED
Experience with EPIC and 3M software
Strong knowledge of ICD10
Proficiency in computer skills (MS Word, Excel, ICD 9 CM, CPT 4, Encoder)
Knowledge of coding guidelines, payor guidelines, and federal billing guidelines Desired Skills:
Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Coding Professional (CCP) from AHIMA, RHIA, or RHIT
Experience with Coding applications
Solid understanding of Anatomy, Physiology & Disease processes
