The CNC Lathe Setup Operator is responsible for setting up CNC equipment/machines in an aerospace machine shop environment. This includes part loading, inspection, documentation and machine maintenance. Operators will be expected to take great pride in their work to assure consistent part quality and repeatability.
Shift Time Availability: Monday - Friday, 12pm-8:30pm - 10% shift differential for 2nd shift!
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set up and operate CNC lathes.
Use of precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges and custom gauges to perform detailed inspection of parts.
Perform daily machine maintenance such as but not limited to: Checking levels of oil and coolant, clearing chips and greasing chuck.
Basic knowledge of G-Code and CNC operations.
Use of crane and loading fixtures to move parts in and out of machines.
Identify and replace worn cutting inserts.
Perform setup and in-process documentation of critical parts.
Knowledge of proper mechanical inspection practices.
Requirements
Must be a U.S. Person.
HS diploma or equivalent; degree in vocational trade school preferred but not required.
Minimum of 3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have manufacturing/machine shop environment experience.
Experience with operating and setting up CNC Lathe machines.
Be able to read & understand blueprints & drawings.
GD&T knowledge required.
Basic knowledge of G-Code & CNC operations.
Experience in ISO9001/AS9100 environment preferred but not required.
Must be able to read and write in English.
