The Advanced Computing, Mathematics, and Data Division (ACMDD) is seeking a PhD intern who is passionate about foundational graph models, graph representation learning, and their applications in electronic design automation and cybersecurity. You will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects that bridge theory and real-world applications.
Responsibilities
As a PhD intern, you will:
Develop and implement graph neural networks and large language models.
Contribute to scientific machine learning initiatives.
Manage scientific data in alignment with FAIR principles.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and share findings through peer-reviewed publications.
Utilize your strong communication skills to effectively articulate complex ideas.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a PhD program at an accredited institution.
Minimum GPA of 3.0.
Preferred Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or related fields.
Experience in energy sciences such as computational physics or chemistry.
Strong foundational knowledge of applied mathematics, including machine learning and graph theory.
Proficient in Python and data science libraries (Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, Matplotlib).
Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
Experience with machine learning libraries such as Pytorch or Tensorflow.
Knowledge of graph databases (e.g., Neo4j) and modern deep learning methods.
Publication history in notable conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, or AAAI.

Compensation
The salary for this position ranges from USD $24.04 to $36.06 per hour, based on skills and experience.
