Position Overview
The Senior Carpenter plays a vital role in supporting reconstruction efforts for clients. This position involves overseeing multiple projects and serves as a key trainer for less experienced carpenters. Senior Carpenters are essential members of the CAT Team in large-scale commercial reconstruction projects. They possess extensive knowledge of applicable equipment and tools, as well as expertise in the installation of commercial construction materials. This position is the level 4 in the Progressive Carpenter track, and candidates may be considered for future opportunities in the Estimator or Project Manager tracks.
Responsibilities
Identify potential project issues and promptly seek additional guidance when necessary.
Train Carpenter Basic and Intermediate level team members on their job responsibilities.
Provide answers to project-related questions and route more complex inquiries to the appropriate resources.
Construct appropriate containment for construction dust, dirt, and airborne contaminants in the work area.
Build Metal Framed Walls, Acoustical Ceilings, repair, and replace roofing as needed.
Utilize the correct tools and BELFOR methods to perform tasks related to flood cutting, salvaging, and labeling baseboards, cabinets, doors, etc.
Learn to identify different types of insulation, their thickness, and R-values.
Apply expertise in Trim, Doors, Cabinetry, Insulation, Rough Framing, Acoustical Ceilings, Roofing materials, and Exterior Siding to daily tasks.
Conduct daily vehicle safety and maintenance checks, keeping vehicles in a clean and serviceable condition.
Maintain meticulous attention to detail throughout all tasks.
Adhere to BELFOR Standards for safeguarding clients' properties.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of customer service principles and practices.
Work effectively under time constraints to meet specific project timelines.
Be available to work nights and weekends as requested and travel periodically.
Accurately report time worked along with equipment and consumables used.
Participate in BELFOR-sponsored safety and operational training courses as required.
Requirements
Supervise unskilled labor, Basic, and Intermediate Level BELFOR employees, along with occasional subcontractors across residential, commercial, multi-family, industrial, and institutional settings, as well as high-risk or complex projects.
Answer basic project questions and know when to direct inquiries to more qualified personnel.
Ensure proper maintenance of equipment utilized in daily tasks.
Provide emergency services as needed, including securing buildings to prevent further damage.
Perform additional duties as required to support business needs.
