Healthy Kids Programs is seeking Childcare Assistants for our Summer Camp to guide campers through a summer filled with fun, friendship, and unforgettable adventures. Inspire, guide, and create unforgettable experiences for children while joining a dedicated, award-winning team.
Schedule:
Pre-summer: Up to 3 hours per week, increasing to up to 6 hours per week beginning mid-June
Summer: Monday–Friday, shifts between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM
Potential to continue beyond summer with different hours
Location: Fletcher Elementary School in Cambridge, VT
Status: Part-time, non-exempt
Pay: $17.00 – $19.00 per hour, based on experience

Healthy Kids Programs provides childcare for school-age children (ages 5–12) enrolled in program on the days and during the hours you work. Employer contributions cover the cost of care, so you can focus on your job while your child participates in a safe, structured, and engaging program, all without needing to arrange outside care.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Site Director in planning and leading daily camp activities, games, hands-on projects, and special events, including arts & crafts and themed programs
Create a positive, inclusive environment where campers feel supported, encouraged, and fully engaged
Ensure camper safety while following all state regulations, Healthy Kids policies, and host school guidelines
Keep daily communication with families through the Playground App and assist during parent orientations
Engage in community outreach initiatives to promote the program and build connections with prospective families
Demonstrate enthusiasm, positivity, and a proactive, can-do attitude in every interaction
Requirements
Education and Experience
Minimum age of 18 and hold a high school diploma or equivalent
Qualifications
Prior Vermont Background Clearance and Training preferred but not required
Demonstrated ability to create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment that engages and supports children, families, and staff
Effective written and verbal communication skills, including experience interacting with families and supporting parent engagement
Ability to support community outreach initiatives to promote programs and engage prospective families
Maintains professionalism, reliability, and punctuality, while modeling enthusiasm, positivity, and a can-do attitude
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including bending, stretching, lifting, carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children
