Your role and responsibilities As an Associate Consultant at IBM, you will help IBM clients solve some of their most challenging business problems, capitalize on market opportunities, and understand leading technologies and the impact they can have on traditional business processes.

In this role, you may be responsible for: * Learning and adopting consulting skills and business knowledge to effectively integrate packaged technology into the client's business environment.

* Translating client's business needs into business requirements and participating in the production of solutions to drive business value.

* Working with clients to refine or design their business strategy while working in an agile collaborative environment.

These positions are anticipated to start in 2026.

We have positions open in these locations: * Atlanta, GA * Austin, TX * Chicago, IL * Dallas, TX * Houston, TX * NYC, NY * San Francisco, CA Required education High School Diploma/GED Preferred education Bachelor's Degree Required technical and professional expertise * Demonstrated programming proficiency and experience with 1 of the following (Java, C++, Python, Scala, R, SAS, SQL, Hadoop, HTML, SPSS, VBA, Tableau, Spark, Angular, ReactJS), as well as systems design/development, and information technology course work * Exposure to web services, API and Java application frameworks such as Springboot * Hands-on experience working in collaborative development environments, including use of Git-based source control, branching strategies, pull requests, and basic code review practices * Ability to translate business requirements into technical solution * Practical understanding of API-first development, including consuming REST APIs, authentication patterns, and integrating across systems * Exposure to web application development concepts and frameworks, including front-end and/or back-end development * Familiarity with cloud-native development concepts, such as environments (dev/test/prod), deployment pipelines, and running applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, or GCP) * Foundational understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems concepts * Familiarity with generative AI Modeling, ethics and methodologies * Familiarity with Microservices architecture, infrastructure concepts and cloud platforms AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, and Google Cloud * Ability to work across the software development lifecycle, contributing to code quality, testing, and maintainability * Willingness to travel up to 100%, based on project requirements Preferred technical and professional experience * Have flexibility to work across architecture - building both front end and backend * Help maintain and improve code quality, organization, and automatization * Communicate with stakeholders on technical issues Design and code servers, services, applications and databases on platforms such as PostgreSQL, MySQL and Oracle that are reusable, scalable and meet critical architecture goals.
