About the Role

JSET Automated Technologies is hiring a Controls Trainer / BAS Instructor to support the development and delivery of hands on technical training for our Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Controls teams.

This role is ideal for an experienced controls technician, BAS programmer, commissioning agent, or automation specialist who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and helping others grow their technical skillset. You'll play a key role in building structured training programs that support field readiness, safety, and long term career development across our organization.

What You'll Do

Design and deliver technical training programs focused on BAS, controls, and data center automation

Develop curriculum, lesson plans, lab exercises, and reference materials aligned to real world field work

Lead classroom, lab, and hands on instruction for:

Building Automation Systems (BAS / DDC)

PLC fundamentals and control logic

SCADA systems

AC/DC control circuits and relay logic

Sensors, field devices, and networking fundamentals

Software configuration and basic programming

Structured cabling, conduit, and data center controls environments

Serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME) supporting trainees, instructors, and leadership

Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously improve content and delivery methods

Collaborate with the Education Manager and internal stakeholders to align training with operational needs

Support content management and course delivery through the Learning Management System (LMS)

Create and maintain technical documentation, manuals, and training guides

What We're Looking For

Technical Background

3+ years of hands on experience in Building Automation Systems, controls, PLCs, or data center automation

Strong working knowledge of BAS/DDC platforms and field installation or commissioning practices

Training & Communication

Experience delivering training, mentoring, or leading technical instruction (formal or informal)

Ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to mixed experience audiences

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Education (Flexible)

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Building Automation, or related field OR

Equivalent professional experience in lieu of a formal degree (highly valued)

Preferred / Nice to Have

Experience with platforms such as Niagara, Tridium, Ignition, or SCADA systems

Prior curriculum development or structured training program experience

Familiarity with adult learning principles or instructional design

Experience using LMS platforms or digital training tools

Industry certifications (BAS, controls, PLCs, or training related certifications)
