Assists Chief in planning and administering enterprise wide Data Collection Systems:
• Supervises data administration managers (e.g., assigns and prioritizes work, makes hiring recommendations; evaluates staff performance) assigned to offices throughout the department;
• Assigns and prioritizes program/project policies, procedures and timelines;
• Provides embedded data management support to an office or center, reviews database design, documentation and data element parameters for compliance with department standards and vision;
• Monitors work progress;
• Designs, develops and maintains the processes and timelines for monitoring report card data quality processes;
• Evaluates data policy questions related to data corrections and use;
• Formulates policy related to data collection and use;
• Assists staff in resolving difficult computer problems related to data collection, verification and/or analysis;
• Ensures data administration standards are followed in accordance with best practices and industry standards;
• Maintains standardization of data element definitions and documentation;
• Manages data system security;
• Advises director on trainings for end users and customer service initiatives.
Meets with internal and external users to discuss and resolve issues;
• Attends and conducts management-level meetings;
• Coordinates with other department centers and provides expert advice to higher level management;
• Attends training/seminars;
• Operates computer to access, enter and retrieve data.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Completion of undergraduate core program in business or public administration or data processing/computer science/information systems technology; 4 yrs. exp. or 4 yrs. trg. in developing & maintaining data administration policies & procedures for automated systems which included responsibility for developing standards for new & existing software selection, design & development of data bases to include security measures/controls & how data is to be accumulated, maintained, archived & removed from system; 6 mos. exp. or 6 mos. trg. in employee development/training or acting as team/project leader over other employees.
