Mechanical Design Engineer

SavvyWise Workforce is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for a confidential manufacturing client in the Buffalo, NY area.

Responsibilities:

- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)

- Create detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and specifications

- Perform engineering calculations, FEA, and tolerance analysis

- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and project teams to ensure designs are production-ready

- Support prototype development, testing, and validation

- Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance

- Manage multiple projects from concept through production release

- Ensure designs meet industry codes, standards, and customer requirements

Requirements:

- 3+ years of mechanical design engineering experience in a manufacturing environment

- Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent CAD software

- Strong understanding of GD&T, materials science, and manufacturing processes

- Experience with sheet metal, machining, welding, or fabrication design

- Ability to work cross-functionally with production and quality teams

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required

- PE license a plus but not required

Compensation: $85,000 - $110,000/year + benefits

Location: Buffalo, NY (on-site)
