What You'll Do:
Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children. WIC helps eligible pregnant and breastfeeding women, women who recently had a baby, infants, and children up to 5 years of age. WIC is seeking an Information Technologist 1 for the WIC Help Desk. This position is critical in providing support and service to local WIC staff working directly with participants of the Ohio WIC program. Key responsibilities include:
Providing education on WIC Certification System and Ohio WIC policies & procedures as it relates to Information Technology
Providing access to WIC Certification System, determine user access levels, and reset passwords
Troubleshoot general computer issues (speed, internet issues, connectivity issues to monitors and docking stations)
Monitoring tickets in ServiceNow, providing follow-up and status updates to customers and maintaining communication records
Assisting program manager in executing system test scripts/use cases to identify issues and document results
Troubleshoot issues with WIC Certification System/Application, card readers, and benefits receipt printers
Installing software, card readers, and receipt printers for local WIC projects
Resolving WIC benefit redemption issues
Restoring WIC benefits for transferred participants
Assisting with Farmers’ Market coupon issues
Promoting system security and awareness by adhering to ODH IT security policies and standards
EDUCATIONAL TRANSCRIPT REQUIREMENTS: Official educational transcripts are required for all post-high school educational accomplishments, coursework or degrees claimed on the application. Applicants will be required to submit an official transcript prior to receiving a formal offer of employment.

6 months combined work experience in any combination of the following: computers and/or electronics and/or in telecommunications performing routine analysis, programming, installation, maintenance and/or systems support, solving problems with pre-determined methods on basic hardware or software including experience providing customer support.
OR
2 courses in computer science or information systems.
OR
equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Applications of those who meet the minimum qualifications will be further evaluated against the following criteria:
Associate or advanced degree in in Computer Science or Information Systems
Experience working with customers to identify, interpret, and troubleshoot computer software and hardware issues (e.g., card readers, printers)
Experience creating IT tickets (e.g., system issues)
Experience working with WIC at state or local level
Experience working in an environment adhering to IT system security and awareness
