Hatcher Advisory seeks a Bookkeeper who keeps our financial gears running smoothly. This role demands someone sharp and organised, with a love for numbers and a keen eye for detail. As the keeper of our financial records, the bookkeeper handles all financial transactions, ensuring they adhere to accounting standards and regulations. They prepare financial reports, reconcile accounts, and assist in budgeting and forecasting. This role ensures our finances are transparent, efficient, and reliable, keeping the organisation financially fit and on track. About the role
Daily Bookkeeping Support: Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, maintain accurate records in Xero.
Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations: Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards regularly and investigate/review discrepancies to ensure financial records are complete and up to date.
Accounts Receivable and Sales Reconciliation: Monitor accounts receivable, follow up outstanding items as needed, and complete monthly sales reconciliations to ensure sales records match the accounting system.
Accounts Payable and Invoice Checking: Process supplier bills and payments and verify that purchase orders (POs) and delivery notes match supplier bills before processing.
BAS/IAS and Fuel Tax Credits: Prepare monthly BAS/IAS workpapers and draft BAS for review/submission, including accurate computation of fuel tax credits and other relevant GST/BAS adjustments.
Client and Supplier Queries: Liaise professionally with suppliers and customers to resolve invoice, payment, statement, and account queries in a timely manner.
Payments and Banking: Prepare and upload payment files/batches to online banking and maintain clear support for approvals and payment processing.
Leave Provisions: Assist with the calculation and posting of provisions for annual leave and personal leave balances as part of month-end reporting.
End-of-Month Journals: Post end-of-month journals (for example accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and other adjustments) in line with month-end close requirements.
End-of-Month Support and Reporting: Assist with month-end close processes, reconcile key balance sheet accounts, and prepare supporting workpapers for internal review. About You You must have:
At least 2 years of experience in a bookkeeping role.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or any related field.
Knowledgeable in BAS/IAS preparation, GST coding, and monthly compliance processes.
Experienced in Xero (including bank reconciliations, bill processing, journals, and reporting).
Has deep knowledge and work experience in Australian accounting and taxation. Nice to have:
