What You'll Do:

The Bureau of HIV, STI, and Viral Hepatitis is seeking a PrEP Coordinator (Pre-exposure prophylaxis Public Health Consultant) to help strengthen Ohio’s HIV prevention efforts. Advancing public health takes more than research and innovation—it requires dedicated professionals who can translate critical public health insights into real world impact. As statewide program consultant for Early Intervention Services (EIS), you'll play a pivotal role in Ohio’s HIV prevention strategy. You'll provide the training, coordination, program guidance, and accountability needed to ensure that PrEP and other prevention services reach the communities who need them most.

Coordinate activities of EIS grantees and acts as statewide PrEP/PEP program consultant

Monitor EIS outcomes and provides technical assistance/capacity-building

Train EIS on Prevention Assistance Program Interventions (PAPI) enrollment, health benefits navigation, Medicaid, harm reduction & screenings for referrals to support services

Collaborate with Disease Intervention Specialists (DIS), community organizations, syringe service programs, and regional EIS (testing, referrals, outreach/health education, PrEP retention, etc.)

Track EIS caseloads to ensure equitable work distribution

Conduct site visits with EIS-funded agencies

Work with PAPI Coordinator to identify issues and prioritize system/training improvements

Assist ODH program management with grant writing and annual progress reports

Conduct literature reviews and attend trainings/conferences to maintain subject matter expertise

Normal working hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. This is an hourly position, with a pay range of 12 on the 1199 Pay Range Schedule.

Unusual Working Conditions: May require travel.

Educational Transcript Requirements: Official educational transcripts are required for all post-high school educational accomplishments, coursework or degrees claimed on the application. Applicants will be required to submit an official transcript prior to receiving a formal offer of employment. Failure to provide transcripts within 5 working days of being requested will cause the applicant to be eliminated from further consideration.

Please note that a transcript is considered "official" only if it is an original copy from the educational institution and includes an institutional watermark, ink stamp or embossed stamp. Transcripts printed from the institution's website will not be accepted. ODH reserves the right to assess the academic credibility of an educational entity's award of a putative degree.

6 months experience in providing direct service &/or consultation in a public health, community health, hospital &/or clinic setting, to include experience in program evaluation, grant review, developing & presenting training programs & in facilitating &/or working collaboratively with coalitions or groups AND completion of graduate core coursework in public health, health care, health administration or related field AND must be able to provide own transportation.

OR

18 months experience in providing direct service &/or consultation in a public health, community health, hospital &/or clinic setting, to include experience in program evaluation, grant review, developing & presenting training programs & in facilitating &/or working collaboratively with coalitions or groups AND completion of undergraduate core coursework in public health, health care, health administration or related field AND must be able to provide own transportation.

Experience working with HIV prevention methods

Experience with computer software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Experience analyzing training evaluation survey information

Experience evaluating subgrantee/provider for performance
