Purpose:Reporting to the SVP, CFO Bermuda, the VP Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is a key position in the Bermuda Finance team responsible for leading the FP&A function for Athene’s nine regulated Bermuda entities, including two investment sidecars, and acting as a key strategic partner to the CFO and Bermuda executive team.

Accountabilities:

Deliver high quality management reporting and variance analysis on a US GAAP, Bermuda Statutory and EBS basis for all Athene Bermuda entities

Lead the annual planning and quarterly projection process on all accounting bases

Prepare quarterly earnings materials for local and Group management, and present results to all Bermuda Boards and Audit Committees

Support evaluation of strategic opportunities, including new business initiatives

Act as key Finance business partner for sidecar leadership team

Design and enhance FP&A processes and controls

Lead and develop a team of six professional staff in multiple locations

Qualifications and Experience:

Professional Accounting, Actuarial or CFA qualification, with a minimum of 10 years’ experience

At least 5 years’ FP&A experience within insurance or reinsurance and 6 years’ management experience

Recent experience with accounting for life/annuity products under US GAAP, Bermuda Statutory and EBS frameworks

Experience acting as Finance business partner to executive leadership teams of (re)insurance entities

Proven successful experience in managing people in multiple locations

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Ability to establish and maintain effective cross-functional working relationships at all levels

Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
