Medical Coder
Proficiency in medical coding within acute care environments is essential, requiring advanced computer skills encompassing MS Word, Excel, ICD-9-CM, CPT-4, and Encoder applications. Candidates should possess a deep understanding of coding guidelines, payor specifications, federal billing regulations, as well as extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes. The role mandates adeptness in researching coding-related matters, proficiency in training, and a CCS certification. Familiarity with 3M/HDS coding software is crucial, along with outpatient and ED experience.
