As a Career Development Advisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students and alumni in their career journeys. This remote position allows you to guide a diverse online population through career exploration, professional development, and job search strategies, adapting to the ever-changing workforce landscape. You will collaborate with our career services and student experience teams to help learners achieve their career goals, all while working from the comfort of your approved remote location.

Build meaningful relationships with learners from diverse backgrounds, meeting them at various stages in their career development.
Provide effective phone-based career advising by responding to incoming calls and conducting scheduled appointments.
Deliver personalized and timely career coaching that balances immediate needs with long-term professional development.
Guide learners in aligning their strengths and interests with degree programs and career aspirations.
Provide strategic advice on professional documents, interview preparation, networking, and salary negotiation.
Support learners with empathy and patience throughout their professional processes.
Collaborate across university departments to establish holistic support systems for learners.
Document interactions thoroughly to ensure consistent support across the department.
Develop expertise in specific industries while maintaining versatility across various career fields.
Use feedback and performance metrics to continually refine your approach, improving the learner experience and success.
Adapt to evolving career technologies and workforce trends to ensure relevant guidance for learners.
Conduct independent research to provide students with up-to-date career advice and industry insights.
Balance scheduled appointments, responsive support, and proactive outreach effectively.
Utilize technology tools such as Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and CRM systems to facilitate remote work while maintaining FERPA compliance.
Work a set schedule, including one evening per week, with options for flexible scheduling based on business needs.
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 1 year of experience in career advising, counseling, human resources, or recruiting.
Proficiency in computer applications, particularly in Word and Excel, with the ability to maintain complex spreadsheets and databases.
Experience with professional social media platforms, particularly in updating LinkedIn profiles.
Experience working with a variety of populations with special employment needs.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, with a typical schedule consisting of four daytime shifts and one evening shift as business needs dictate. General business hours are Monday - Thursday from 8 AM - 8 PM ET and Friday from 8 AM - 6:30 PM ET.

Compensation:
The annual pay range for this position is $39,913.00 - $63,870.00. Your specific offer will be based on your skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations. The target hiring range for this position is $44,103.00 - $59,668.00.
