Irrigation Service Technician
Position Overview
We're seeking an experienced Irrigation Service Technician to handle all aspects of irrigation system installation, maintenance, and repair. This role combines hands-on technical work with light supervision of helpers and direct customer interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Install, repair, and maintain complete irrigation systems: controllers, valves, heads, rotors, drip systems, 2-wire systems
Perform pressure testing, trenching, pipe pulling, and wiring
Read irrigation plans and lay out job sites
Operate specialized equipment: trenchers, pullers, GPS locators, tampers
Manage material ordering and job scheduling
Interface professionally with customers, subcontractors, and architects
Complete job paperwork, change orders, and cost reports
Train and supervise irrigation helpers as needed
Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED
Valid driver's license with clean record
2+ years irrigation service experience
Bilingual (Spanish/English) - oral and written
Ability to lift 50 lbs and handle physical demands
CPR/First Aid certification
Clean background check and employment eligibility documentation
Technical Skills:
Experience with all irrigation system components and installation
Ability to read irrigation plans and drawings
Equipment operation and basic maintenance
GPS locator system proficiency
CRM software experience (or ability to learn)
Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) certification (Preferred)
