Cedar Point is looking for a skilled Carpenter to join our Maintenance Division. This position is essential for performing carpentry work on roller coasters and overseeing general maintenance tasks. You will handle various types of carpentry, including finish work, rough construction, and door hardware installation.
Responsibilities:
Conduct maintenance tasks on numerous attractions, focusing primarily on wooden rides and additional carpentry-related duties throughout the park.
Operate lifts safely as part of your daily responsibilities.
Climb roller coasters as necessary to perform inspections and maintenance.
Engage with guests according to Six Flags standards, providing assistance, answering questions, and offering directions.
Ensure a clean and safe work environment, reporting any unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision while adhering to Six Flags' safety protocols.
Work availability must include nights, weekends, and holidays to fulfill business requirements.
Follow Six Flags' attendance policies as outlined in Cedar Fair's guidelines.
Comply with Six Flags' Rules of Conduct, including specific grooming and costuming standards as detailed in Associate Guidelines and departmental policies.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Possession of a Union Journeyman's card as a Carpenter in good standing.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Comfortable with heights and climbing.
Capability to lift and transport materials as required.
Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test in accordance with Company policy, unless restricted by state or provincial law.
Must pass a background check for candidates 18 years of age or older, which may include checks on credit, criminal history, DMV records, prior employment, education, and personal references, as per Company policy unless restricted by federal, state, or provincial law.
