The Prime Onchain Wallet team is on the lookout for seasoned backend engineers to help develop the next generation of institutional onchain products and functionalities. You will face unique, large-scale, and intricate technical challenges that lie at the crossroads of blockchain technology and institutional finance.

Your Responsibilities:

Design and implement significant initiatives such as accelerated network onboarding and reliable high-success-rate transaction processing, along with advanced policy controls for institutional clients.

Define and execute the technical roadmap aligning with organizational multi-quarter goals.

Resolve complex, high-impact challenges by understanding customer needs and delivering secure, scalable solutions.

Maintain high engineering standards via thorough code reviews, testing, and addressing technical debt.

Lead incident response and root cause analyses to ensure the reliability and scalability of backend systems.

Mentor junior and mid-level engineers to foster their growth and enhance the team’s technical expertise.

Identify opportunities for innovation and champion solutions, integrating cutting-edge technologies like MPC and cryptographic protocols.

Collaborate with Blockchain, Security, and Infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment on dependencies.

What We Seek in You:

5+ years of backend development experience, proficient in Golang, GraphQL, REST APIs, Kubernetes, AWS, and blockchain protocols (e.g., EVM, Solana, UTXO).

Track record of producing high-quality, maintainable code, with resilient, scalable microservice systems.

Experience in leading intricate technical projects from inception to completion, mentoring teammates to drive technical excellence.

A passion for tackling ambiguous and complex problems with a proactive approach to delivering effective solutions.

Hands-on experience with blockchain integrations, cryptographic systems (e.g., MPC), and secure key management.

A customer-focused mindset with a passion for building solutions that allow institutions to operate securely onchain.

Adept at cross-functional collaboration with product, security, and infrastructure teams.

Excitement about contributing to Coinbase's mission of fostering an open financial system and promoting institutional onchain adoption.

Preferred Qualifications:

While primarily a backend role, familiarity with full-stack development or front-end frameworks is beneficial.

A strong interest in blockchain technology with practical experience in building crypto exchange applications, dApps, or Web3 tools.

Knowledge of advanced cryptographic techniques, such as zero-knowledge proofs or secure multi-party computation (MPC), is a definite plus.

Understanding of SOC1/SOC2 standards or experience working in regulated environments is advantageous.

Please note: the target annual base salary for this position ranges from $186,065 to $218,900 USD. Full-time positions also include eligibility for bonus and equity compensation, along with benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) plan.
