The Role

As a Planning Engineer Specialist, you will utilize industry-approved technologies and architectures to fulfill specific project requirements, driving our growth and enabling the delivery of new services at Lumen.

Location

This role offers the flexibility of remote work within the U.S.

Main Responsibilities

Assist with federal and local government quoting activities.

Prepare detailed plans and specifications by gathering field data.

Ensure the use of the most feasible, practical, and economical means to execute tasks; provide cost data for capital planning and budgeting.

Demonstrate proficiency in either planning or engineering roles.

Analyze local and wide area network systems, evaluate customer network environments, and configure communication devices effectively.

Support the acquisition and implementation of leased services.

Work under direction and guidance to complete assigned tasks.

Candidate Profile

Required:

5+ years of professional experience in a related field with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 2-3 years with a Master’s Degree.

Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks with effective time management capabilities.

Proven data analysis and economic evaluation skills.

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality.

Demonstrated success as a project manager.

Outstanding organizational, prioritization, and communication skills.

Advanced computer skills with a focus on Microsoft Excel.

Preferred:

Experience in quoting for military installations and government facilities.

Background in an engineering role that includes significant business and financial responsibilities.

Compensation

This role has a competitive base salary range which varies by location, based on skills and experience.

Location Based Pay Ranges:

$67,703 - $90,270 in specific states. Additional pay ranges based on location.
