A Testing Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the client's global network infrastructure-one of the largest and most complex in the world-operates reliably, efficiently, and at scale. The role sits within client's platforms, technical infrastructure, or global networking teams, which design and build the hardware, software, and networking technologies powering all the client's services.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and facilitate the testing of wavelength and/or corp services
Utilize inventory tools and provide port assignments that will be used as demarcation to third party vendors
Track milestones and proactively drive any activities that may jeopardize completion of end-to-end testing of service/s in scope
Provide thorough and timely status throughout the end-to-end testing process
Coordinate remote hands / dispatch support as needed across an entire path and direct those resources to install equipment, patch, create hard loops, test, and/or troubleshoot services
Ensure high quality hand-offs to internal customers. Engage stakeholder organizations as required
Update and maintain circuit database in addition to other tools which store site information and inventory
Develop effective communication and teamwork with internal customers and carriers
Act as an externally facing point of contact to coordinate service and operational support from vendors
Support planned systems maintenance activity while minimizing impact to services
Contribute to streamlining processes and work closely with corp developers to improve the workflow, inventory and provisioning systems
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years experience with remotely testing, troubleshooting, OR activating DWDM and/or Data services
Preferred Qualifications:
Working in a Telecom NOC or Test and Activation environment
Demonstrated experience with remotely testing, troubleshooting, and activating DWDM and Data services
Strong knowledge of troubleshooting across layer 1 and 2, including experience managing tests with multiple types of test equipment (EXFO, VeEX, JDSU, etc.), and different testing approaches (BERT, OTDR, RFC2544, etc.)
Experience managing work from a queue, as well as working in network inventory tools
