What You'll Do as a Public Safety Intelligence Analyst

- Independently gathers, reviews & analyzes locally generated information (i.e., criminal activity, suspicious activity, data published in documents from sources such as the county auditor, recorder, Secretary of State, &/or county courts) based on time sensitive & emerging threats.

- Researches & analyzes data trends in order to identify criminal patterns & suspect activity in support of law enforcement task forces & public safety investigations.

- Utilizes Law Enforcement Automated Data System (LEADS), social media accounts, informational databases, spreadsheets, reports &/or other sources for monitoring & assessing the development of criminal activity, threats or violence against the public &/or law enforcement personnel.

- Ensures timely dissemination of time sensitive & emerging threat information to all law enforcement, homeland security partners &/or other public safety disciplines.

- Conducts forensic financial analysis of businesses, individuals or groups identified as participating in suspicious or illegal activity.

Option 1

36 mos. exp. conducting research & writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical &/or statistical research techniques.

Option 2

- Or completion of undergraduate core program in homeland security, political science, criminal justice, emergency management, public health, international affairs or related field;

AND 12 mos. exp. conducting research & writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical &/or statistical research techniques.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
