Job Title: Night Terminal Operator

Overview: Suit-Kote Corporation, a leading Asphalt products manufacturer, road construction and maintenance and asphalt application engineering company is seeking candidates for a Terminal Operator for our Tonawanda, NY facility. This position is overnights Monday-Friday TBT

Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to observe safe work practices and operating procedures at all times. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.

Responsibilities/Job Duties:

Complete Scale House Operator training to be proficient as a Scale House Operator

Demonstrate proficiency in manual tank gauging

Demonstrate understanding of mix stand operations (i.e.: setting up valve alignments per valve sheets, starting batch pumps, mixers and polymer auger)

Ability to safely set up and preform sulfur operations

Assist with equipment maintenance (i.e.: pump/mixer packing adjustments and repair, blend room maintenance)

Demonstrate ability and understanding of manifold valve line ups for proper product distribution to appropriate load lane

Basic troubleshooting

Active participation in terminal Emergency Response Drills

Required Skills/Abilities:

Willingness to obtain company provided forklift training

Reliable transportation to and from work site

Strong work ethic

Strong math skills

Physical Organization and time management

Flexibility in hours - overtime and weekend hours may be necessary

Unafraid of heights

Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted

Consent to a DMV license evaluation

Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements

Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present

Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting

Other Preferred Qualities:

Ability to read and understand SDS

Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

High school diploma or GED - a two year technical degree is preferred

Basic math skills

Position is considered full time, but seasonal in nature, with anticipated lay-off in the November thru March time-frame. Site specific locations may have varying seasonal requirements that can extend or contract these timeframes.
