JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Warehouse Associate will perform a variety of routine shipping, receiving, production and housekeeping tasks. Shipping tasks include picking, packaging and shipment of orders. Receiving tasks include loading and unloading truck shipments and stocking the warehouse shelves. Production tasks include material handling, cutting machine operation. This position reports directly to the Branch Manager.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inventory Management
Performing inventory cycle counts daily - entering counts into system
Investigating inventory discrepancies
Checking and identifying material that is nearing shelf life
Accurately receiving purchase orders into the system
Managing the transfer of materials and equipment between branches Shipping
Prepare orders for shipment in accordance with the pick ticket and customer requirements
Notify the Branch Manager of shortages
Package and ship materials
Stock shelves in the warehouse
Communicate with Branch Manager on inventory - low levels and shelf life critical material
Use P21 operating system (training on system will be provided) Receiving
Receive and unload incoming material and compare information on packing slips with purchase orders to verify accuracy of shipment & enter into system
Sort, count, package, label, and unpack inventory that is received
Inspect shipments for damages, loss, or defects, and notify the supervisor of findings
Responsible for accurately receiving, reporting and putting away orders/transfers
Stock shelves in the warehouse
Operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading material and equipment REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Warehouse and forklift experience
Teamwork, Coordination, Organization, Time Management, Dependable
Effective communication/comprehension skills - verbal and written
Math Skills
Basic computer skills
Physical Requirements: lifting materials up to 100 lbs., requires frequent standing/walking
