Position Purpose:
Provides financial leadership, analysis, and operational support to ensure the organization's financial stability, regulatory compliance, and strategic growth. Oversees financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, reimbursement analysis, and financial operations while supporting leadership decision-making in a complex healthcare environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or related) or professional certification preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive healthcare finance, accounting, or financial management experience preferred.
Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a healthcare finance or accounting environment strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of healthcare financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, reimbursement methodologies, cost reporting, and regulatory compliance requirements (Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Proficiency in financial systems, general ledger accounting software, spreadsheets, and business intelligence tools; experience with healthcare systems such as Oracle Cerner preferred.
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to leadership, staff, and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to financial accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides oversight and analysis of financial reporting processes to ensure accurate, timely, and meaningful financial information that supports operational performance and regulatory compliance.
Assists in preparation and analysis of financial statements, operational reports, and performance metrics to support leadership decision-making.
Ensures accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data in accordance with healthcare accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Monitors financial performance, identifies trends, and recommends strategies to improve financial outcomes.
Assists with financial feasibility analyses, capital planning, service line evaluations, and organizational initiatives.
Presents financial information at key meetings in the event the CFO is unable to present.
Coordinates with the CFO, payroll staff, and other finance staff to maintain an accurate General Ledger.
Ensures consistent and appropriate classification of revenues and expenses in accordance with accounting standards, organizational policies, and financial reporting requirements.
Prepares, reviews, and posts monthly journal entries to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
Assists with oversight of accounts payable transactions, including review of coding accuracy and adherence to financial policies and procedures.
Performs reconciliations of accounts receivable, inventory, payroll-related accounts, and other balance sheet accounts as needed to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Utilizes strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, investigate, and resolve system or process errors impacting financial data.
Maintains a thorough understanding of financial reporting processes and general ledger structure to support accurate reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance
Assists with budgeting and forecasting activities to support financial planning, organizational accountability, and strategic decision-making while ensuring alignment with operational goals and financial sustainability.
Assists in annual budgeting processes and ongoing financial forecasting activities.
Works collaboratively with department leaders to develop budgets, monitor variances, and support financial accountability.
Provides financial modeling and scenario analysis to support strategic initiatives and operational planning.
Provides oversight of property, equipment, and lease accounting to ensure accurate asset tracking, depreciation reporting, financial statement integrity, and compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.
Maintains accurate records of the hospital's property and equipment, including oversight of fixed asset schedules, depreciation calculations, and related financial reporting.
Ensures the fixed asset inventory remains current and accurate, including timely additions, disposals, transfers, and reconciliation to financial records.
Tracks property and equipment leases to ensure accurate accounting treatment, timely payment processing, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and organizational policies.
Provides oversight and coordination of contract and service agreement management to ensure financial accountability, compliance with contractual terms, accurate expense tracking, and alignment with organizational financial and operational goals.
Maintains centralized tracking of vendor contracts, service agreements, leases, and maintenance agreements to ensure accurate documentation, renewal awareness, and financial accountability.
Monitors contract terms, pricing structures, renewal dates, and termination provisions to support effective financial planning and risk management.
Collaborates with department leaders, legal counsel, purchasing, and administration to review financial implications of contracts and support contract negotiations when appropriate.
Ensures contract-related payments are processed accurately and in accordance with agreed terms and organizational policies.
Supports financial analysis of service agreements and vendor relationships to identify cost savings opportunities, performance concerns, and operational efficiencies.
Participates in the annual audit and cost reporting.
Assists in the preparation of reports and data for auditor review.
Responds in a timely manner to requests and questions from the auditors
Follows HIPAA regulations and ensures that the confidentiality of patients medical, personal, financial records, employee records, and organizational records is maintained.
Participates in FCH committees, quality assurance, performance and quality improvement initiatives, and activities which support the facility and department operations.
Complies with the state and federal regulatory requirements related to the performance of FCH operations and requirements of the FCH Compliance Program. Including but not limited to:
The Compliance Policy.
Completes all mandatory on-line training annually and as assigned.
All department and organization-wide policies.
