POSITION

FACILITIES / POOLS SUPERVISOR (FULL-TIME) Ottine Mineral Springs is seeking a hands-on and experienced Facilities / Pools Supervisor to oversee the daily maintenance, upkeep, and operations of our pools and related water systems. This role will directly supervise the Pool Technicians and ensure proper water quality and safety standards are consistently met. This role will serve as lead under the Facilities Manager. They will also be responsible for administrative organization, project coordination, and ensuring work orders and facilities projects are completed accurately and on schedule. This position will serve as a Manager On Duty (MOD), supporting resort operations and guest experience.

Position requires some nights, weekends and holidays.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee daily maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of all pools, spas, and water features.

• Ensure proper chemical balancing, filtration performance, and water clarity are consistently maintained.

• Conduct regular inspections of pool systems including pumps, heaters, filters, plumbing, and chemical feeders.

• Maintain accurate records of water testing, chemical usage, maintenance logs, and safety checks.

• Identify issues early and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime and guest impact.

• Ensure compliance with all health department, safety, and operational regulations.

• Supervise + support Pool Technicians, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and correctly.

• Train, coach and provide ongoing development for pool staff.

• Assist with scheduling and delegation of daily/weekly maintenance responsibilities.

• Provide leadership through example by working alongside the team as needed.

• Communicate staffing needs, performance concerns, and operational updates to the Facilities Manager.

• Support the Facilities Manager with facility-wide maintenance needs, including light construction, repairs, and general upkeep.

• Assist with preventative maintenance programs and seasonal projects.

• Perform minor repairs related to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or mechanical systems as needed.

• Maintain organization and cleanliness of pool mechanical rooms, storage areas, and maintenance workspaces.

• Serve as Manager on Duty as scheduled, assisting with operational needs across the resort.

• Respond to guest complaints, service recovery situations, and urgent operational issues in a calm and professional manner.

• Make real-time decisions to ensure guest satisfaction and smoother operations in the absence of department managers.

• Coordinate with Spa, Facilities, and Food + Beverage team to ensure operational needs are met.

• Maintain awareness of resort activity and ensure teams are aligned on daily priorities and guest expectations.

• Stay vigilant regarding safety issues across the property and respond appropriately to incidents or emergencies. Ensure emergency procedures are followed and assist with documentation and reporting as required.

• Maintain open communication with all departments and upper management through email, meetings, and daily coordination.

• Document operational issues, guest concerns, and follow-up needs for management review.

• Support staff across departments as needed during high-volume or emergency situations.

• Assist with incident reporting, emergency response, and safety enforcement.

• Track and manage work orders, preventative maintenance schedules, and project timelines.

• Maintain accurate documentation for pool inspections, repairs, vendor work, and equipment servicing.

• Assist with project planning, coordinating resources, and ensuring deadlines are met.

• Communicate project updates clearly to the Facilities Manager and leadership team.

• Ensure supply inventory is monitored and materials are ordered in advance to avoid delays.

• Support vendor coordination, scheduling, and follow-up to ensure work is completed properly.

• Provide excellent customer service, offering assistance to guests as needed.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Due to changing operational demands, it may be necessary to undertake various functions that are not specifically related to this position. This individual may be required to carry out additional tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Additionally, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and modification.

Requirements

• Ability to work nights, weekdays, weekends and holidays. On-call availability may be required for pool emergencies or urgent repairs.

• Minimum 2+ years of pool maintenance experience required.

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

• Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.

• Working knowledge of pool equipment systems (pumps, filters, heaters, chemical systems)

• Basic understanding of general construction and maintenance (plumbing, carpentry, minor electrical, etc)

• Ability to work independently, make decisions, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication skills and ability to lead a team effectively.

• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred.

• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English. Spanish speaking a plus.

• Reliability, punctuality, and professional communication skills are critical.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.

• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.

• CPR and first aid certification a plus and /or the willingness to be trained.

• Ability to walk or stand and move about the resort (both indoors and outdoors) for eight or more hours per day, sit, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, push and pull items weighing up to 75 pounds.

• The position requires manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, the ability to follow written and verbal instructions and procedures, and the capacity to communicate effectively and professionally.

• The person in this position will need to be comfortable working in an indoor/outdoor use space in all weather conditions.

Salary Description

$55,000-$60,000
