The Role:

Reporting to the Associate Director of Engineering Planning, the Summer Intern will work in a team focused on evaluating capital project requests and optimizing operational processes. The intern will gain exposure to feasibility analyses, engineering standards development, and process modeling to support strategic decision-making.

Here's What You'll Do:

Lead a small engineering Front End Planning project, including

Stakeholder alignment and scope development

Equipment list, utility analysis, and layout development

Feasibility and operational analyses

Schedule and cost development

Presentation to project and business stakeholders, providing assessment findings and recommendations

Additional opportunities

Investigate assigned business and manufacturing operations challenges; collect and interpret operational data in preparation for simulation

Assist in building a comprehensive library of engineering specifications and standards

Develop standardized CapEx project execution templates in Asana PMO software

Requirements:

Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering with preference for Chemical Engineering

Skills:

Familiar with industrial piping systems and typical biotech production and utility unit operations

Exposure to process analysis, operational data collection, or related problem-solving activities

Knowledge of discrete event process modeling is a bonus but not required

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Strong curiosity and a desire to learn

Determined and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently

Comfortable asking questions and seeking guidance when needed

Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills

Effective verbal and written communication abilities

The budgeted range for this position is $25.00 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected hourly range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.
