45PRESS is a Canfield, OH–based web development studio with clients in the entertainment industry and government sector. We're looking for an experienced, mid-level WordPress Developer who lives and breathes modern WordPress — FSE, block development, the whole stack. Our work is deadline-driven and detail-intensive, so accuracy, speed, and reliability aren't optional.

WE ARE NOT LOOKING TO OUTSOURCE PROJECTS TO OTHER COMPANIES.

Security & Background Requirements

This position requires the ability to pass a federal background investigation and qualify for Public Trust Tier 4, which includes:

Federal background check

Credit report screening

Drug screening

U.S. Citizenship

Candidates must successfully meet all requirements as a condition of employment.

What You'll Need

WordPress is your core — you should be deeply comfortable with:

Full Site Editing (FSE) — block themes, theme.json, global styles

Custom block development — React-based, Gutenberg-native

Custom themes & plugins — built the right way, not hacked together

WP REST API — you know it well and have used it in production

Beyond WordPress, you should have solid command of:

PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES2021+)

ReactJS or Vue.js with component-based architecture

Figma/Adobe XD/PSD to pixel-perfect, responsive implementation

Modern CSS — TailwindCSS, Bootstrap 5, SCSS/PostCSS

Git with real-world workflows — GitHub, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines

Node.js (18+) for build tooling, APIs, and dev workflows

MySQL / MariaDB — writing SQL and thinking about schema design

Nice to Have

Modern build tools: Vite (preferred), Webpack, or esbuild

Headless WordPress: WPGraphQL, decoupled front ends with Next.js or Nuxt

TypeScript — strongly preferred for React/Vue work

Performance & Accessibility: Core Web Vitals, WCAG 2.2, caching, CDN

Cloud/DevOps basics: AWS, DigitalOcean, Vercel, or GCP; Docker is a plus

Mobile: React Native, Expo, or Flutter experience
