Job Description

We’re a U.S.-based marketing agency working heavily in the insurance and insurtech space. We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented web developer to support ongoing website builds, updates, integrations, and technical troubleshooting.

This is a part-time contract role. Some weeks may be light. Other weeks may be full. We assign work through tickets and communicate closely during Pacific Time business hours.

We are looking for someone we can work with directly long-term.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing

Most of the work will involve:

WordPress builds, edits, and plugin modifications

Creating or modifying custom functionality (ACF, hooks, filters, custom post types)

Debugging issues (PHP errors, database queries, API failures)

API integrations and maintenance

Occasional Webflow adjustments

Technical SEO audits and site performance improvements

QA and browser testing before launch

This is hands-on implementation work, not just page building.

Core Technical Requirements

You should be strong in:

PHP (clean, readable, maintainable code)

WordPress development (themes, plugins, ACF)

AWS

Oracle

MySQL troubleshooting

Vanilla JS / jQuery

HTML / CSS

Debugging production issues using logs

Nice to have:

Webflow experience

Experience building custom WordPress plugins from scratch

Video creation & editing experience

How We Build

We value clean architecture and maintainable code over quick fixes.

We care about writing code that the next developer can understand six months from now.

We expect:

Thoughtful implementation, not patchwork solutions

Clear naming conventions and organized structure

Proper testing before marking work complete

Asking clarifying questions before building

What We Care About (Beyond Code)

You read tickets carefully and don’t skip details.

You test your work before marking complete.

You communicate clearly in written English.

You are comfortable working with an American team during Pacific Time hours.

We value reliability and thoughtful execution over speed.

Availability

Must overlap at least 2 hours per day with Pacific Time.

This is part-time contract work.

You will track your time while working on tickets.

To Apply, Please Include:

Examples of WordPress projects you’ve built (especially custom functionality).

Any plugins you’ve created or modified.

Your resume.

Your daily availability in Pacific Time.

Your hourly rate.
