About the Role

We are hiring a Link Building Manager to take full ownership of our off-page SEO department. This is a leadership role responsible for strategy, team performance, quality control, and scalable systems.

You will manage and grow a team of link builders while ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality backlinks across multiple client accounts, including competitive niches such as iGaming.

This role is ideal for someone who thinks strategically, leads decisively, and holds high performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Performance Management

Lead, structure, and scale a team of freelance link builders

Set clear monthly targets and quality benchmarks

Monitor individual and team KPIs

Conduct performance reviews and implement improvement plans when necessary

Ensure accountability, productivity, and consistent output

Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new link builders

Strategy & Quality Control

Own and continuously improve the link-building strategy across accounts

Approve high-value link opportunities and oversee prospect qualification standards

Maintain strict quality control over anchor text strategy, link velocity, and backlink profile health

Identify risks such as over-optimization or toxic link patterns

Test and implement advanced link-building strategies (digital PR, authority outreach, niche edits, partnerships)

Operations & Systems

Develop and refine SOPs to improve scalability and efficiency

Improve workflows, tracking systems, and reporting frameworks

Collaborate closely with SEO and Content teams to align link acquisition with ranking goals

Maintain strong publisher and partner relationships

Reporting & Accountability

Track link acquisition performance against monthly targets

Analyze backlink data using Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Google Search Console

Provide clear, structured reporting to leadership

Take ownership of results and proactively solve performance gaps

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience in link building leadership role

Strong understanding of backlink strategy, authority metrics, anchor distribution, and risk management

Experience managing remote SEO teams

Proficiency in Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, and outreach tools

Strong analytical and decision-making skills

Excellent written English and communication skills

Strong organizational and project management abilities

Comfortable using Google Sheets, Airtable, Notion, or similar systems

Reliable internet connection and willingness to use time-tracking software
