What are we looking for?

The Executive, Underwriting is responsible for assessing and classifying risks, making sound and ethical underwriting decisions, and determining appropriate premiums, terms, and conditions. The role ensures timely, accurate, and confidential handling of underwriting information, supports effective communication with customers and stakeholders, and contributes to provider network development and continuous process improvement.

What are we expecting from this role?

Making underwriting decisions (whether to accept an application for insurance coverage) with integrity and honesty (assessing, classifying, and selecting risk, and determining the premium, terms, and conditions according to the level of risk that each presents).

Act promptly, while exercising sound, objective, and consistent judgment in making underwriting decisions

Treat all underwriting information with the utmost confidentiality and use it only for the express purpose of evaluating and classifying risk.

Effective communication with customers, colleagues, healthcare providers, and distribution teams to ensure the company can deliver the best service to customers.

Insurance training for the distribution channels

Provider network development, including a tie-up with new medical centers, hospitals, and clinics, provider network expansion through auditing and maintaining the existing network with regular visits and engagement.

Ability to build good interpersonal relationships and work well in a team, and be good at problem-solving.

Be eager to learn and develop the skills.

Responsibility for quality, accuracy, and turnaround time related to reporting.

Performing other tasks with time constraints assigned by the line manager.

Explain to customers when they need further clarification about health conditions (e.g., Rating up cases and/or postponing cases)

Ability to interpret health condition customers once they receive medical reports from panel clinics.

Performing other tasks assigned by line management.

Work closely with the transformation team/any stakeholders to implement new initiative-related underwriting.

Who are we looking for?

Bachelor’s degree in a medical-related field.

Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in the financial industry; prior experience in life or non-life insurance is highly desirable.

Good command of English (speaking, reading, writing, and listening).

Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email).
