Join our innovative team as a Lead Hardware Development Engineer! In this exciting position, you will play a crucial role in the creation of next-generation Oracle server platforms, conducting essential electrical testing for Oracle's Cloud and Exadata product lines. Your main responsibility will be to debug complex system and board-related issues, performing root cause analyses and implementing effective corrective actions. You will be a key driver in enhancing our projects through continuous improvement initiatives.

Based in Burlington, Massachusetts, this position requires an onsite presence due to the hands-on nature of the work. We offer relocation assistance for eligible candidates, and remote options may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities

Conduct hands-on testing and debugging of complex system and board-level issues, leading comprehensive root cause analyses and corrective actions.

Measure and analyze electrical signaling, provide circuit enhancement recommendations, and run simulations for signal and power integrity.

Execute full system validation and component qualification test plans, while spearheading troubleshooting efforts for intricate challenges.

Prepare and present detailed reports for engineering leadership, ensuring clear insights and actionable recommendations.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering skill development and professional growth.

Collaborate with design engineers on PCB layout, routing, and stack-up feedback, integrating emerging high-speed interface technologies.

Develop comprehensive validation testing strategies, plans, and procedures to guarantee design robustness.

Job Requirements Include

Expertise in measuring electrical signal quality, including jitter, noise, and timing analysis.

Proficiency with advanced lab test equipment, such as high-speed oscilloscopes, differential probes, and logic analyzers.

A deep understanding of signal integrity concepts and frequency domain analysis.

Strong analytical skills, diagnostic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

Proven experience in a technical leadership capacity, mentoring junior engineers.

Experience in designing or testing computer or embedded system architectures, particularly with Intel, AMD, and Ampere architectures.

Familiarity with Nvidia and AMD GPU architectures is highly desirable.

Knowledge of Ethernet compliance standards and testing methodologies.

Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.

Ability to write scripts in Python or similar programming languages.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

BSEE/ BSCS required; MS preferred.

Qualifications

Minimum of 11 years of relevant experience in hardware engineering or a related field.

If you hold a BSEE (or related field), you should have a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience; candidates with an MSEE (or related field) should have at least 5 years of experience. A Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (or related field) is preferred, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Salary and Benefits Information:
