Grocery Receiving Associate

Key Responsibilities

Report any safety concerns or illegal activities such as robbery or theft.

Notify management of customer or employee incidents.

Develop training for DSD Receiver backups.

Maintain high security in the receiving area.

Perform regular equipment inspections, reporting any maintenance needs.

Support safety initiatives by adhering to safety procedures, and report unsafe conditions.

Ensure proper temperature checks in coolers and cases, maintaining accurate logs.

Adhere to all food safety regulations.

Stay informed about seasonal and special promotions.

Manage inventory for all incoming products.

Process damaged or returned goods and manage associated paperwork.

Verify the condition, accuracy, pricing, and temperature of received products.

Ensure that shipping and receiving tools function optimally for a seamless inventory transition.

Keep a close eye on inventory levels to maintain ordering system integrity.

Communicate any product discrepancies to the department manager.

Label, stock, and manage merchandise within the department.

Foster trust and respect among colleagues with a positive attitude.

Cooperate effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.

Manage conflict calmly and cooperatively.

Act with honesty and integrity concerning customer and business information.

Qualifications

Minimum: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and strong attention to detail.

Desired: Any prior receiving experience is a plus, as well as knowledge of a second language (speaking, reading, or writing). Familiarity with industry terminology and strong oral/written communication skills are advantageous.
