The Experienced Laser Operator is responsible for independently operating advanced laser cutting equipment, programming and optimizing jobs, and ensuring high-quality part production. This role includes monitoring cutting processes, adjusting programs and settings in real time, staging materials, and performing quality inspections. The Laser Operator also supports other operators through mentoring, troubleshooting, and verifying part quality. This position is intended for operators who can work with minimal supervision and take ownership of production flow, accuracy, and efficiency.

Shift 15: Monday-Thursday, 5:00 AM-3:00 PM
Shift 16: Monday-Thursday, 3:00 PM-1:00 AM (+$1.25/hr shift differential)
Shift 21: Friday-Sunday, 6:00 AM-6:00 PM (+$3.50/hr shift differential)
Hourly rate of pay: $20.14-$28.68 per hour base rate (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities
Operate laser cutting equipment to produce parts according to specifications and quality requirements
Retrieve and stage raw materials using forklifts and cranes
Load, modify, and optimize laser programs to improve accuracy and efficiency
Monitor cutting processes and adjust settings to meet customer and blueprint requirements
Inspect finished parts, detab components, and organize parts according to work instructions
Program new laser jobs using CAD and PEP software
Troubleshoot part quality issues and resolve process-related problems
Perform secondary inspections and verify parts produced by other Laser Operators
Prioritize multiple jobs across several lasers and balance competing production demands
Mentor and support Laser Operators by sharing best practices
Requirements
Experience operating laser cutting equipment in a manufacturing environment
Ability to independently adjust machine settings and CNC programs
Experience programming laser jobs using CAD and PEP software
Experience using forklifts and cranes, or willingness to obtain certification
Strong math skills and the ability to read prints, measurements, and tolerances
Ability to manage multiple jobs with minimal supervision
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail during repetitive tasks
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods
Lift up to 100lbs occasionally
Bend, reach, and handle parts throughout the shift
Frequent handling of parts and machine components
Required PPE: eye protection, hearing protection, MET guard safety shoes
