This position is responsible for administrative support and facilitating the overall functioning of the Domestic Relations Division.
* High school diploma or equivalent plus three (3) years related work experience.
Associates Degree preferred; * Must possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record * Must meet and maintain qualifications for driving on county business as a continued condition of employment.
* All required licenses and certificates must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
* Review pleadings for divorce, domestic violence, civil protection orders, UIFSA and reactivated cases; * Enter case specific information into Court database for tracking, statistical and reporting purposes; * Schedule ex-parte protection orders in conjunction with Victim Services, attorneys and parties to the case; * Coordinate motions for continuances including scheduling court hearings; * Prepare correspondence, judgment entries and various legal documents for pending domestic relations cases for review; * Proofread correspondence, judgment entries, Magistrate's Orders, Magistrate's Decisions, and various legal documents; * Inform parties and attorneys of scheduled conferences, hearings and prepare entries as required; * Docket new complaints, prepare files and distribute necessary paperwork; * Act as Court liaison with the general public, attorneys and litigants and give and receive information in a professional and courteous manner; * Ensure cases are tracked and resolved in a timely manner; * Prepare monthly reports; * Assist with other administrative duties; * Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance; * Attends various training sessions, video conferences, and workshops; * Hold as confidential, all aspects of the job; * Performs typing, word processing, data entry, and related computer operations * Bailiff duties as required (e.g.
calling cases to begin trial; set up audio/video cart; ensure functioning court recording system); * Pulls court files for upcoming dockets; * Makes copies as needed; * Performs other duties as assigned; and * Works overtime and outside of typical work schedule/business hours as required.
