Position Summary: Landscaping Apprentice

As a Landscape Apprentice working for Professional Property Services, you will perform a variety of hands-on tasks to create and maintain outdoor spaces for residential, commercial, and public properties. This role involves physical labor and the use of hand tools, power equipment, and machinery to create, maintain or enhance landscapes.
Key Responsibilities:
Mowing, trimming, and edging to maintain lawns.
Plant, water, and care for trees, shrubs, flowers, and sod.
Spreading mulch.
Seasonal leaf and debris removal to keep grounds clean and tidy.
Assist in installing landscape features such as walkways, patios, or retaining walls as needed.
Operate and maintain equipment like blowers, chainsaws, string trimmers, bed shapers, and other small equipment safely and efficiently.
Assist with snow removal and de-icing during winter months.
Follow safety protocols and collaborate with team members to complete projects on schedule and within budget.
Follow instructions and participate in training sessions to develop technical landscaping skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Basic knowledge of landscaping techniques and tools (preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided for the right candidate).
Strong work ethic, team player, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions.
No formal education required; experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or manual labor is a plus. Willing to train the right candidate.
Must have cell phone to clock in and out daily and to follow other company communications.
Valid Ohio Driver’s License and reliable transportation. Must meet the insurability standard.
The ability to tow trailers or transport equipment.
Schedule and Benefits:
Full-time, typically 40 hours per week on a four 10-hour days schedule, with potential overtime during peak seasons (spring and fall).
Starting wage aligns with local standards and is commensurate with experience.
