Job Title: Weaver / 2nd Shift 3 pm - 11 pm

Reports To: Supervisor / Department Lead

Job Summary:

The Weaver is responsible for operating and monitoring weaving looms to produce fabrics according to quality, efficiency, and production standards. The role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and an understanding of textile patterns, yarn types, and fabric structures to ensure smooth machine operation and high-quality woven output.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate automatic or manual weaving looms (such as air jet, rapier, or shuttle looms) to produce fabric according to design specifications.

• Set up looms by threading warp and filling yarns according to weaving plans or style sheets.

• Monitor machines during operation to detect broken ends, filling stops, or pattern irregularities.

• Repair warp or weft breaks promptly to minimize downtime and maintain consistent fabric quality.

• Adjust machine settings such as tension, pick density, and speed as required for different fabric types.

• Conduct regular quality checks to ensure fabric meets company standards for texture, pattern accuracy, and color consistency.

• Clean looms and work area to maintain safe, efficient, and organized operations.

• Record production data such as yardage woven, downtime causes, and materials used.

• Communicate with technicians or supervisors regarding equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.

• Follow all safety protocols and report potential hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Previous experience in textile weaving operations preferred (1-3 years).

• Familiarity with air jet, rapier, projectile, or shuttle looms

• Strong attention to detail and ability to detect subtle fabric defects.

• Good hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude.

• Basic understanding of fabric types, yarn characteristics, and weaving terminology.

• Ability to work independently and maintain consistent output.

• Team-oriented attitude and good communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.

• Comfortable working in a noisy, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• May be required to work rotating shifts, weekends, or overtime as needed.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
