The Opportunity Program Recruiter will join a collaborative and mission-driven Admissions team responsible for representing Hilbert College through a wide range of recruitment activities and participating in the selection of candidates for the entering class. Central to this role is building a strong sense of community and belonging for prospective students by fostering meaningful connections and creating pathways to access higher education.

Working closely with the Director of Admission, the Opportunity Program Recruiter will coordinate efforts to expand access to higher education and strengthen the enrollment of students who may benefit from Hilbert's opportunity-based admission pathways. These pathways include the Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP), the Assisi Scholars Program, and the Say Yes to Education Program.

This position involves developing and sustaining relationships with college access organizations and partner programs, as well as traveling to high schools and colleges throughout New York State and surrounding regions. In collaboration with the admissions team, the Opportunity Program Recruiter will actively promote Hilbert College's Franciscan mission, emphasizing the value of an inclusive campus community shaped by individuals from diverse faiths, cultures, and lived experiences.

The Opportunity Program Recruiter will also support and embody the College's Franciscan Values, including hope, peace, service, joy, integrity, respect, compassion, and vision, helping students feel welcomed, supported, and empowered as they begin their educational journey at Hilbert College.

Job Duties and responsibilities:

Represent Hilbert to diverse audiences in high schools, at college fair programs, on campus, and through phone and text outreach.

Manage a recruitment territory; four to six weeks of fall travel and one to two weeks of spring/summer travel.

Maintain relationships with secondary school officials, community-based and college-access organizations, and partnership programs on behalf of Hilbert.

Correspond with prospective students and their families, assisting families in the application and financial aid processes.

Utilize CRM to monitor communication and application review among team of recruiters

Organize and participate in a range of admission recruitment events including college access workshops, Open Houses, and daily visitation.

Assist the Office of Mission efforts through participation in on campus mentorship programs.

Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Sound judgment, tact, courtesy, and dependability.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Familiarity with all campus services, policies, regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required.

Valid Driver's license.

Experience in a higher education setting preferred.

Bilingual candidates preferred but not required.

Compensation: $50,000.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, and organizational needs.
