A client in the Columbus, OH area is seeking to add 5 Engineering Technicians to their growing team. This role supports active construction projects through field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials to ensure work is performed in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards. The Engineering Technician III serves as a key field resource, working closely with Project Managers, clients, and contractors to verify quality, document results, and maintain safety and compliance on construction sites.
Key Responsibilities
Test and inspect construction materials in the field or lab to confirm work meets requirements
Monitor contractor activities and report site conditions and test results to project teams
Collect, label, and transport material samples to the lab for further testing
Prepare and submit daily reports and documentation to the Project Manager
Maintain equipment and work areas, assist with technician scheduling, and follow all safety requirements

Required Skills & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Clear driving background
ACI Field Tech 1 Certification (Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I OR Concrete Strength Testing Technician)
3-5 years of relevant experience in construction materials testing, inspection, or related field (or equivalent combination of training and experience)
Experience with field testing of: Soils and density, Concrete, or Aggregates and asphalt
Experience using a laptop computer, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
ICC Certification (Concrete, Structural Steel, Fireproofing, etc.)
Certification in radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation
AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
ASNT Level II nondestructive testing certifications
NICET Level II certifications in Construction Materials Testing or Geotechnical categories
