JOB TITLE: Test Engineer, EE Systems Integration Lab

LOCATION: Foster City, CA (Onsite)

PAY RANGE: $68 - $78/hr.

DURATION: 6 months

TOP 3 SKILLS:

Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical integration and testing of systems and subsystems, including operation of HIL systems like dSPACE, CANoe, or Labview

Proficiency with electronic lab equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, programmable power supplies, chillers, accelerometers, and torque sensors

Strong troubleshooting and test execution skills for electrical and mechanical systems, including data logging, firmware flashing, and cross-functional coordination with development teams

Job Overview:

As part of the EE Systems Integration team, we will collectively be responsible for assuring that electrical, electronic, and mechatronic systems are integrated and tested into systems and vehicles with a maximum of reliability and performance.

As a Test Engineer you will be responsible for operating a dynamometer and executing a defined test plan on vehicle-representative electrical test assets. You will work with system owners, firmware developers, technicians and other test engineers to design and operate Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) test assets.

Responsibilities:

Be trained to operate our dynamometer (dyno) to simulate driving conditions and trigger electrical fault injection on our HIL electrical test assets

execute electrical test cases (following test plan) on various systems (lighting, thermal, charging, powertrain, perception, safety, etc.) on both static and dynamic test assets

Maintain, develop, and automate further functionality of existing HIL testing environments

Work cross functionally with various teams to understand Firmware releases, fixes and system compatibility

Work with test requesters to assure successful system and sub-system performance

Perform first level of troubleshooting when a test fails or doesn t perform as expected

Setup data-logging hardware such as CANalyzer to capture and analyze CAN messages and logs to provide detailed information of test results

Flash firmware on vehicle components with changes and updates tracking

Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues

Qualifications:

5+ years work experience in testing/engineering.

BS or MS degree in ME/EE or equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability

Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical integration and testing of systems and subsystems

Experience with HIL systems like dSPACE, CANoe, Labview (or similar).

Experience in R&D electronics environment or electrical testing lab

Experience with electronic lab equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, programmable power supplies, chillers, accelerometers and torque sensors

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and efficiently coordinate demands from diverse development teams

Bonus Qualifications:

Firmware and test script programming experience (C/C++, Python)

Experience with Linux command-line-interface and linux file topology

Familiarity with version control tools such as git

Experience with translating HW/SW requirements to test cases

Experience with axle-hub dynamometers

Previous experience diagnosing CAN or ethernet network issues

Experience with automotive high voltage systems (400VDC)

Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate or annual salary only, unless otherwise stated.
