Yard Mule Driver

Job Summary:

The Yard Mule Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers within the yard and between loading docks and staging areas. This role supports the logistics and warehouse team by ensuring that trailers are positioned properly and on time to maintain production and shipping schedules. The ideal candidate has experience operating yard tractors or similar equipment and adheres strictly to safety protocols.Key Responsibilities:

Operate yard mules to move trailers between docks, staging areas, and designated yard locations.

Ensure timely and accurate trailer placement to support shipping and receiving schedules.

Inspect trailers for cleanliness, seal integrity, and mechanical readiness.

Perform basic maintenance checks on yard mule equipment and report any issues.

Maintain accurate records of trailer movements and yard inventory.

Communicate with warehouse, shipping, and receiving teams to coordinate trailer movements.

Follow all company safety guidelines and procedures, including the use of PPE.

Comply with all DOT, OSHA, and company policies and regulations.

Assist in yard organization and general upkeep as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required.

Prior experience as a yard driver or operating a yard mule/trailer jockey preferred.

3rd Shift 11pm-7am **some overtime may be required
