Job Summary
The Millwright Apprentice is responsible for performing routine manual and clerical duties in stock handling and keeping routine records. Performs other related work as required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, and equipment.
May be required to leave premises to purchase tools and consumables from a local vendor to maintain said inventory levels
May be required to work in the field to assist the personnel or during emergencies.
Maintains records of all tools and equipment issued; prepares periodic inventory and requisition stock as needed; reports damaged and worn-out equipment to supervisor; makes minor tool repairs.
Maintains inventory of consumables needed to be issued from the tool crib.
Maintains safety items for distribution to personnel.
Able to identify part numbers from drawings and technical manuals.
Able to request quotations from vendors.
Able to place material on order and track such items within the purchasing system.
Coats tools with grease or other preservatives to keep them operable; maintains the tool crib in clean and sanitary condition; places stock in proper bins and racks; orders stock to replace stock that has
been used.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of storekeeping principles and practices; knowledge of simple record keeping; ability to post records accurately.
Ability to perform simple arithmetic computations; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Basic computer literacy is required.
Must possess a valid Virgin Islands Driver’s License
Must possess a valid TWIC card or be eligible to obtain one.
The proper (PPE) personal protective equipment must always be worn when carrying out said duties.
Must be available for overtime and weekend work as necessary.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Education & Experience
High school and three (3) years of experience in tool crib operation or in mechanical work involving the use of a variety of hand and power tools.
