NWTS Recruiting Materials Manager (Manufacturing Operations)

Northwest Talent Solutions (NWTS) is recruiting on behalf of a well-established advanced manufacturing organization seeking a Materials Manager to lead plant material flow and production support operations. This is a high-impact role where your work directly supports uninterrupted production, inventory accuracy, and continuous improvement across the facility.

You will oversee the movement of materials from receiving through line-side delivery and finished goods shipment while leading a team responsible for supporting daily production.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing material flow from receiving and inspection through line-side presentation and shipping
Ensuring production lines receive the right materials at the right time
Leading inventory accuracy, cycle counting, and transactional reporting
Supervising material handlers, warehouse associates, and support staff
Coordinating staging, storage, and internal logistics across multiple shifts
Improving delivery performance and eliminating production disruptions
Managing excess and obsolete materials processes
Supporting capital equipment and resource planning
Partnering with production, planning, purchasing, and suppliers
Driving safety standards and a strong team environmentLean & Continuous Improvement Focus:
This position is ideal for a leader who has hands-on lean manufacturing experience. You will help improve plant performance through:
Plan For Every Part (PFEP)
Pull systems and Kanban replenishment
Supermarkets and point-of-use delivery
Tugger routes / milk runs
WIP replenishment aligned to production scheduling
5S and waste elimination initiatives
Kaizen and continuous improvement events
You will be expected to not only manage operations — but improve them.What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience
5+ years progressive experience in materials, supply chain, or plant operations
Manufacturing plant experience (assembly or production environment required)
Leadership experience supervising material handlers or warehouse teams
Inventory control and material flow expertise
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Ability to operate in a fast-paced production environmentPreferred Experience:
SAP or similar ERP systems
High-mix/low-volume or mixed-model manufacturing
Multi-shift operations
Continuous improvement leadership
Data-driven decision making and KPI trackingWhat Success Looks Like:
