Job Title: Property Controller

Location/ Work Structure: Downtown Columbus, On-site

Compensation: $75000-$93000

Client Overview:

Vernovis is partnering with a renowned and highly successful local Real Estate company to seek a Property Controller who will join their team. This role is responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of a portfolio of Residential Properties, ensuring that Property Managers and Owners have access to accurate and timely financial information.

What You'll Do:

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Multi family property controller experience required.

Reviews and analyzes the balance sheets, income statements and cash flow reports on his/her portfolio of properties monthly.

Prepares Monthly Variance Analysis Reports for each property in his/her portfolio by the 20th of the month following end of quarter.

Reviews/analyzes and reconciles, annually, the financial information that is provided to Deloitte for tax return preparation including workpaper preparation. All workpapers completed no later than June 30.

In conjunction with Property Managers, prepares annual budgets for all properties in his/her portfolio. Budgets completed according to the budget calendar.

Reviews Cash Accounts and Inter Company Accounts routinely and supplies information regarding funding to Owners. Ensures cash is available for operational needs.

As required, initiates distributions in accordance with Partnership Agreements.

Provides support to Property Managers and Owners in analyzing financial information.

Records new loans and refinances, supplies lenders with financial statements as required, analyzes escrow balances and submits appropriate paperwork for reimbursement.

Maintains cash and accrual books.

Reviews, approves and ensures timely payment of mortgages and real estate taxes.

Reviews and prepares monthly reporting packages to outside owners.

Maintains fixed asset system.

Reviews invoices for proper coding.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned or require
