This person will be based at a specialty chemical manufacturing facility consisting of about 200 people and will work in a group of 10+ engineers that have support this facility doing everything from day-to-day production support to capital projects and process improvement/process optimization. This particular role is a development position and the person hired into this role will benefit from mentoring and direction from the other engineers on the team. Eventually, this person will move into a process design engineer role which has more of a capital and improvements projects focus.
Minimum Requirements:
B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering required
1-5 years of post-college, industry experience in chemical manufacturing
Potential candidates should have a competency with processes involving heat transfer, distillation, reaction, and/or liquid/liquid extraction.
Potential candidates will need to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
Things you will be involved in:
Develop a strong working knowledge of all processes in assigned areas
Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of design and all relevant technical information and details for each process and system
Daily process monitoring
Recommend, propose and work with Production on updates and improvements to batch sheets
Conduct/Assist with Lock Out Tag Outs (LOTOs)
Participate in PHAs
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
