We are looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our team across our SDC and Scunthorpe sites, working cross-functionally with warehouse, planning, and finance teams. You will be responsible for conducting cycle counts, investigating stock discrepancies, reconciling physical stock with our WMS and SAP systems, and producing variance reports to drive accuracy and support continuous improvement.

Inventory Control
Conduct regular cycle counts and support full stock takes.
Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies in a timely manner.
Reconcile physical stock with Warehouse Management System (WMS) records.
Maintain accurate batch, lot, and date control where applicable.
Stock Movement & Transactions
Monitor inbound and outbound stock transactions.
Ensure accurate booking-in of goods and correct location allocation.
Oversee internal stock transfers and system adjustments.
Control quarantine, damaged, and returned stock processes.
Systems & Data Accuracy
Maintain accurate data within the WMS/SAP system.
Ensure all stock adjustments are authorised and documented.
Produce regular stock accuracy and variance reports.
Support audit requirements and compliance checks.
Investigation & Loss Prevention
Analyse stock variance trends and identify root causes.
Work with warehouse teams to implement corrective actions.
Monitor shrinkage, damage, and process compliance.
Escalate recurring issues to management with recommendations.
Operational Support
Ensure pick faces are correctly stocked and replenished
Support planning teams with accurate stock availability information.
Assist operational teams during peak periods where required.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
The primary purpose of a Stock Controller role within a distribution warehouse is to ensure accurate inventory management and maintain stock integrity to support efficient warehouse operations and customer service levels.
