Coding Manager
Salary Range: $32.66 to $48.98 per hour DOE
Status: Full Time (40 hours per week), Exempt, Hybrid-Remote.
Purpose and Scope of Position
This position serves as the principal resource for documentation, coding, and health information management. The Manger is responsible for all functions and personnel in the Health Information Management (HIM) department. The Manager also completes the essential functions of a coding specialist for both hospital and professional fees for inpatient and outpatient coding. Maintains responsibility of all patient identifiable information, consistent with state and federal regulations and guidelines. This position interacts closely with the Revenue Cycle Manager, clinical staff, and administrative teams.
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
1+ years of managerial experience
3+ years of hospital and processional coding (inpatient and outpatient) experience
Experience with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
Certification: Certification from a recognized body such as the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), or equivalent (e.g., CPC, CCS, or CCA).
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with medical records
Bachelor’s degree in health-related field
Additional Certifications: Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC), Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC), Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA), Certified Evaluation and Management Coder (CEMC), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).
Working Conditions
Schedule/Conditions
Exempt position. Typically, four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts, Monday - Friday
Hybrid remote position
Work may be performed in a variety of settings to include office, patient care areas, etc.
May be required to work varying shifts, weekends, or holidays
Participates in Administrator On Duty call schedule (<1 week per quarter)

Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer
