With stable enrollments, strong programs, as well as a unionized and collaborative faculty, SRU enrolls some 8600 students, and the Department of Art has one largest student enrollments of those within the College of Liberal Arts.
The Department offers both a BA and a BFA in Art.
Slippery Rock University is located in a small rural town just an hour north of Pittsburgh.

This position is a 3-3 studio load with primary responsibilities in Drawing and 2D Design and potential to teach in other areas as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications M.F.A.
in art, with specialization open, or equivalent degree.
Professional portfolio of works (fifteen to twenty five images) Evidence of teaching excellence beyond the studio, such as mentorship of individuals, service, and other roles in championing the arts in impactful ways.
Preferred Qualifications Prior college studio teaching experience preferred.
Examples of student work produced as a result of the applicant's instruction.
