Overview
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Manager for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Columbus, Ohio. This role requires deep experience in the restaurant industry, including highvolume weekly and biweekly payroll processing for 11,000+ employees. The Payroll Manager will oversee the daily operations of the payroll department and lead a team of 7-8 payroll professionals.
This position manages endtoend payroll operations, compliance, systems oversight, and reporting. Strong leadership skills, exceptional accuracy, and advanced proficiency with payroll systems-particularly Infor HRT and Workflow Manager-are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Department Oversight
Oversee the daily operation and compliance of the payroll department.
Lead, train, mentor, and support a team of 7-8 payroll team members.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of highvolume weekly and biweekly payroll cycles.
Maintain strict confidentiality and security of payroll data.
Payroll Processing
Oversee payroll activities including:
Pay adjustments
Garnishments
Direct deposit/paycard setup
Employee master file audits
Tax rates
Weekly payroll run controls
Employment verifications
Manage weekly ACH (Direct Deposit) processing through Infor HRT.
Process special bonuses, quarterly payroll, and yearend payroll runs.
Troubleshoot payroll issues related to keying errors, account closures, or system discrepancies.
Systems & Compliance
Audit and maintain the Infor HRT System and Workflow Manager database.
Ensure all electronic files are transferred, uploaded, and downloaded in a timely manner.
Oversee W2 processing and regulatory reporting for weekly, quarterly, and annual requirements.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Reporting & Analysis
Generate essential payroll reports for leadership and operational decisionmaking.
Review and update payroll policies and procedures as needed.
Partner with internal teams to resolve payroll-related issues.
Additional Duties
Support audits, internal reviews, and special payroll projects.
Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
8-10+ years of payroll experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
Experience in the restaurant industry is required.
Must have experience processing very highvolume payroll (11,000+ employees).
Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.
Proficiency with payroll software; Infor HRT experience is a plus.
Strong analytical, problemsolving, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask.
