Position Title: Full-time Electronic Engineer

Annual Salary: A$ 76,515 + Superannuation

Introduction:

Omnivision designs and deploys, smart integrated security systems and communications solutions across critical environments, to meet the specific needs of businesses in Melbourne and throughout Australia. We are seeking an experienced & forward-thinking full-time Electronics Engineer to lead complex design, testing and commissioning of multi-vendor CCTV, access control, alarms and analytics driven systems—bridging hardware, embedded/software configuration, and networked communications.

Duties:

• Lead the engineering design of complex electronic and communication systems, including CCTV, access control, alarm systems, networked devices, and advanced security technologies

• Develop detailed engineering documentation, such as design schematics, technical drawings, commissioning plans, test procedures, ITPs, and performance verification reports

• Design and configure embedded and system level software components, enabling device interoperability, communication protocols, and automation functionality across multi vendor platforms.

• Conduct comprehensive testing, diagnostics, and acceptance validation of electronic components, circuits, and integrated systems, applying advanced fault finding techniques and ensuring alignment with engineering and regulatory requirements.

• Oversee and support the installation, integration, and commissioning of electronic, communication, and security systems both on site and remotely, ensuring correct configuration, protective measures, and system optimisation.

• Analyse communication channels, data traffic, and system behaviour to evaluate performance, determine optimal installation parameters, and recommend enhancements to transmission mediums and system architectures.

• Develop innovative hardware–software integrated solutions tailored to client needs, incorporating advanced analytics.

• Provide high level (Level 3) engineering support, managing complex system issues, performing root cause analysis, and coordinating with international vendors.

• Prepare technical specifications, project costing, feasibility assessments, and engineering input

• Deliver technical training and documentation for end users and internal teams

• Develop commissioning procedures, and quality assurance methods

Skills and Experience:

• Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, with strong academic grounding in electronic systems, communication technologies, and control applications

• A minimum of 4 years of professional engineering experience is mandatory.

• Proven experience with enterprise platforms such as Pronto, Corrigo Pro.

• Strong technical expertise across integrated security systems.

• Demonstrated capability in complex problem-solving.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Ability to perform effectively under pressure, strong teamwork and collaboration skills

• Hands-on experience with electronic testing tools, commissioning frameworks, and diagnostic equipment.

• Familiarity with industry standards, safety protocols, and engineering compliance requirements.

• Current industry licenses and technical accreditations
